TrueGuard HVAC Maintenance Plan for Venice & Southwest Florida Homes

WHY CHOOSE TRUEGUARD MEMBERSHIP?

TrueGuard is TrueBlue Air & Services' annual HVAC maintenance plan. For $169 a year, a licensed technician tunes up your system twice a year, you get priority service when something breaks, and every service call and repair costs less. Some companies call this a service agreement or maintenance contract. The idea is the same: one yearly fee that keeps your system serviced and your repair costs lower. Southwest Florida air conditioners run most of the year in heat and humidity, so a plan built around twice-a-year service fits how the equipment is actually used. Not sure what a tune-up involves or what it should cost? The service-call fee is not applied toward the repair cost for members or non-members.

What the savings look like on one repair

A capacitor or contactor repair typically runs $200 to $300. Using $250 as an illustration (not a quote), here is the same business-hours visit as a member and as a non-member:

Example: $250 repairMemberNon-member
Service-call fee$49$95
Repair$225 (after 10% off)$250
Total$274$345

That is $71 saved on a single repair, or $65 if the call comes after hours ($95 + $225 for a member, $135 + $250 for a non-member). The two tune-ups a year are on top of that.

Is an HVAC Maintenance Plan Worth It in Florida?

It depends on how you would use it, so here is the plain math. A TrueGuard member saves $46 on a business-hours service call and $40 after hours, plus 10% on whatever the repair costs. If nothing breaks, you still get the two tune-ups a year that we recommend for Florida systems anyway.

Why twice a year in Southwest Florida

  • Systems run most of the year. Heat and humidity keep air conditioners working far more months than in northern states.
  • Drain lines clog. An AC pulls moisture out of the air all day, and a blocked condensate line can shut the system down or stain a ceiling. See the common causes of an AC leaking water.
  • Electrical parts wear out. A tune-up is where worn capacitors and loose connections get found before they fail. If your AC already runs but will not cool, read why an AC stops cooling and what to check.
  • You get a record. Every tune-up ends with a written report on your system's condition and our recommendations, so you know what you have before it fails.

Curious what a single visit costs on its own? Our Venice AC service and tune-up guide and the Florida tune-up cost breakdown cover it.

What a TrueGuard Tune-Up Covers

Each visit follows the same checklist as our AC maintenance service:

  • Air filter inspection and replacement
  • Thermostat calibration and testing
  • Electrical connections inspection
  • Refrigerant level check and leak detection
  • Condensate drain line cleaning
  • Evaporator and condenser coil cleaning
  • Blower motor and fan blade inspection
  • Full system performance diagnostic
  • A written service report on your system's condition

Built for Southwest Florida Homeowners

Seasonal residents

Many of our customers are snowbirds. Maintenance scheduling is commonly built around seasonal calendars, and many customers leave us a key or door code so we can service the system while they are away.

Homes with more than one system

Every additional system is $95 per year, so a two-system home is $264 a year for the full plan.

HOAs and condo associations

We offer discounted maintenance contracts for associations. Ask us about a community contract.

Other services members call us for: AC replacement and installation (with financing available), duct cleaning, indoor air quality and ductless mini-splits.

TrueGuard Maintenance Plan FAQs

How much does the TrueGuard maintenance plan cost?

TrueGuard costs $169 per year for your first system and $95 per year for each additional system. Members pay a $49 service-call fee during business hours instead of $95, and $95 after hours instead of $135. Members also get 10% off repairs and most accessories. You can join at the time of service and the member pricing applies immediately.

What is included in the TrueGuard membership?

Every membership includes two comprehensive AC tune-ups a year, priority service when something breaks, a lower service-call fee, and 10% off repairs and most accessories. Members who refer a friend who signs up for a TrueGuard maintenance contract also receive 6 bonus months on their plan. The one-year repair warranty is not a member perk, because every TrueBlue customer gets it.

Is an HVAC maintenance plan worth it in Florida?

For most Southwest Florida homeowners, yes, if you would schedule regular tune-ups anyway. Florida air conditioners run most of the year, and a tune-up can catch clogged drain lines, weak capacitors and low refrigerant before they cause a breakdown. A TrueGuard member also saves $46 on a business-hours service call and 10% on repairs. A plan is less useful if you never intend to service the system.

What does an HVAC maintenance visit include?

A TrueGuard tune-up includes air filter inspection and replacement, thermostat calibration and testing, electrical connection checks, a refrigerant level check with leak detection, condensate drain line cleaning, evaporator and condenser coil cleaning, blower motor and fan blade inspection, and a full system performance diagnostic. You receive a written report on your system's condition afterward.

Can I join TrueGuard when I call for a repair?

Yes. You can join TrueGuard at the time of service and the member pricing applies right away, including the lower service-call fee and 10% off the repair. You can also call (941) 951-2232 or use our contact form to sign up before you need service.

Does TrueGuard pay for repairs?

No. TrueGuard is a maintenance membership, not a repair or parts-coverage plan. Members pay for repairs at 10% off, and the service-call fee is not applied toward the repair cost. Every TrueBlue repair, for members and non-members alike, carries a one-year warranty, and parts are separately warrantied by their manufacturers.

Can I do HVAC maintenance myself?

Some of it. Change your air filter on schedule, keep the area around the outdoor unit clear of plants and debris, and keep supply vents and return grilles unblocked. Leave refrigerant, electrical work and internal components to a licensed technician, because handling refrigerant requires EPA certification. A professional tune-up covers the parts you cannot safely reach or measure.

Can TrueBlue service my home while I'm away for the summer?

Yes. Many of our customers are seasonal residents, and many leave us a key or door code so a technician can service the system while they are away. We commonly build maintenance schedules around seasonal residents' calendars. Call (941) 951-2232 to set up a plan that fits your travel.
